The prime suspect to former Nairobi Hospital Finance Director, Erick Maigo’s Murder case, Ms. Anne Adhiambo, on Thursday, 26 October 2023 pleaded guilty before the High Court Judge, Kaanyi Kimondo, after the prosecution confirmed to the court that she is an adult of sound mind who could stand trial.
Ms. Adhiambo pleaded guilty after the court clerk read the charges to the offense she is alleged to have committed, three times in Kiswahili, to which she responded “ni ukweli.”, It is true.
Judge Kimondo however gave her more time to consult with her lawyers before making the plea. The court also warned her of the consequences that will befall her for pleading guilty.
On Wednesday,25th October 2023, the prosecution stated that it had completed all the investigations and the only remaining evidence that was yet to be analyzed was that of the CCTV footage and blood stains from the murder scene.
Ms. Adhiambo is now being remanded at the Langata Women’s Prison, Nairobi, as she awaits her next court hearing, which is scheduled for 08 November 2023 at the Kibera Law Courts.
