RITA TININA’S DEATH CAUSED BY SEVERE PNEUMONIA

The postmortem examination conducted to the late journalist Rita Tinina on Tuesday, 19 March 2024, by government pathologist Peter Ndegwa, and family pathologist Dr. Michaka, determined that the late succumbed to severe pneumonia.

The findings were disclosed by Mr. Timothy Njaga, the family spokesperson. Rita, who held the position of Output Producer for Broadcast platforms at the Nation Media Group, passed away on Sunday, 17 March 2024. Police based in Kileleshwa Police Staion told the media that Rita was found unresponsive by her 8-year-old daughter in her bedroom, after she failed to wake up for breakfast.

The family confirmed that Rita had been battling severe fever for the previous 5 days. Upon the revelation of the postmortem findings, the family has conveyed their satisfaction and requested privacy to grieve their loss.

With a career spanning more than two decades in the media industry, Rita Tinina had a distinguished tenure. She recently rejoined NTV in October 2023, having previously held a Senior Reporter position at the Standard Group’s KTN. Her sudden departure has deeply saddened the entire media fraternity, who have come together to honor her contributions and commemorate her legacy.

At the time of her passing, Rita Tinina was 46 years old.
