Airbnb is an American Vacation rental company that was founded in 2008 by Brian Chesky, Nathan Blecharczyk, and Joe Gebbiaand. The idea of the Airbed and breakfast came after Brian and Nathan started renting their air mattresses to visitors in their living room and the idea was introduced to more people and it grew beyond the air mattress to include spare rooms, apartments, entire houses and more.

Airbnb is an online market place that offers long-term to short-term home stays and experiences to its clients. The company does not own any properties, it acts as a broker by getting commissions from individuals who hosts the guests at their homes and those hosting experiences. It offers the host a source of income through bookings of their property.

Airbnb hosts can be an individual or a company, as a host you can decide to rent your entire house or just a space in your home. The company allows individuals to host experiences too, one could host language classes, concerts and tours to guests visiting your locality.

There are over 7 million host listings on Airbnb and a guest can check on the listings on their website or the Airbnb app to view the details and amenities of the property that they want to book. the prices and the check in and checkout are always on the site to ease bookings.
