Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have arrested a third suspect in the murder of Olympian Agnes Tirop, who was stabbed to death on Wednesday 13th of October 2021.
The suspect, a woman, will join Agnes Tirop’s lover Ibrahim Rotich, and his friend John Kipkoech Samoei in custody. Police said the woman was spotted at Tirop’s house in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet county, a day before her body was discovered.
Keiyo North sub-County Police Commander Tom Makori, confirmed the arrest without disclosing the identity of the suspect.
Detectives are further reviewing CCTV footage which was obtained from the celebrated long distance runner’s house, as the probe into her death intensifies.
