Kenyans were glued on their Televisions and Social Media platforms on the evening of Sunday, 30 June 2024 as President William Ruto was put to task by 3 formidable journalists, Erick Latiff of the Standard Group, Linus Kaikai of Royal Media and Joe Ageyo of the Nation Media.
In the interview, President Ruto asserted that those who stormed the Parliament during the peaceful demonstrations on Tuesday, 25 June 2024, had specific targets, the armoury and the mausoleum.
President Ruto labeled those who invaded Parliament as organized goons and criminals who had a clear agenda, emphasizing that their organized nature and specific targets. The president further questioned how the criminals knew there was an armory and a mausoleum in Parliament since they went straight for the same.
President Ruto stressed that his administration will pursue all those responsible for the attacks on Parliament, the Judiciary, and the Nairobi County Government offices since all perpetrators were well captured on CCTV footages.
