Kenya’s Daniel Wanyonyi had his sweet revenge on Tanzanian boxer Karim Mandonga alias ‘Mtu Kazi’ on Saturday, July 22 night.
The Ten-round duel sponsored by Betika.com started on a slow and gathered momentum as the clock ticked by, at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. No one seemed to get the better of the other for the first four rounds. Things changed at the fifth and eighth rounds, with Daniel Wanyonyi shutting Mtu Kazi’s mouth by turning him into a punching bag.
Wanyonyi’s star kept shining but Mtu Kazi’s resilience kept him in the rematch. Sometimes, even the strong break down and this was the case for Mandonga at round ten. Wanyonyi sent Mandonga to the canvas, again!
The results were in favor of Wanyonyi with Judges Wycliffe Marende and George Athmani settling for 100-80 and Judge Leonard Wanga awarding 100-89.
