The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday called on the public for assistance in locating Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, a suspected serial killer linked to the Kware murders, who confessed to killing 42 women. The DCI has promised a significant cash reward for information leading to his capture.
Jumaisi, originally from Shiru Sub-location in Vihiga County, escaped from custody on August 20 alongside 12 Eritreans detained at the Gigiri Police Station. The escape reportedly involved cutting through wire mesh and scaling a wall. Following the incident, five police officers were arrested on suspicion of aiding in the breakout and later released on a Ksh200,000 cash bond each as investigations continue.
Jumaisi’s escape has sparked public outcry due to the severity of his charges. Prior to his escape, authorities discovered items in his possession potentially linked to his crimes, including multiple SIM cards, mobile devices, a machete, and personal belongings of alleged victims.
The DCI urges anyone with information to contact the anonymous #FichuaKwaDCI hotline at 0800722203 or use the police hotlines 999, 911, and 112.
