It is with no doubt that sex education is a subject so many shy from, especially in the African society. Pellucidly, sex was created for man and woman, but times have changed and there are a number of sexual relations other than what is considered normal. Unnatural sexuality, are certain sexual acts, including oral and anal sex, incest, procreative sex in the wrong position, sodomy, bestiality, and necrophilia.
Bestiality, is human sexual relations with animals, which has been in existence since the dawn of human history. Zoophilia, is sexual attraction of a human toward a non-human animal, which may involve the experience of sexual fantasies about the animal or the pursuit of real sexual contact with it. Often than not, people interchangeably use both terms to refer to one and the same thing. However, research has distinguished Zoophilia, as a persistent sexual interest in animals, and Bestiality aa a sexual act with animals, which is not driven by a sexual preference for animals.
This has always been considered a ‘Western culture’, but it is just an excuse for obscenity, as it has easily found its way in our African society. Contrary to popular belief, the West do not allow such, and if found, one is liable to imprisonment.
Since time immemorial, bestiality has been common among African herdsmen, involving all types of domestic animals like cows, goats, dogs as well as chicken. Yes! It’s quite alarming. This is the society we are living in. Morals no longer serve humanity, it is total lunacy. Thanks to the laws that govern our land. Animals have rights, and are thereby favored by these same laws.
According to Kenya’s penal code chapter 63 section 162(b), If any person has carnal knowledge of an animal, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years: a crime, and one can be imprisoned for 14 years if found guilty. Section 163 provides that; Any person who attempts to commit any of the offences specified in section 162 is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for seven years.
