High court judge Honorable Justice Teresiah Matheka, has stated that being a housewife is a full-time job that should be payable as she provides services in the home that would be otherwise outsourced and paid for.
While presiding over a dispute where a couple had separated, Justice Teresiah Matheka added that duties like raising children, cooking, cleaning and the nine months a woman carries a baby in her womb, should be taken into account as a full time job.
She further stated that in a case where parties have separated and one is taking care of the minors, he or she should get a sizeable sum of the matrimonial property.
