29 year-old Ms. Melisa Muhinda and Mr. Ekiru Amatuka have been found guilty of the murder of her husband, Geoffrey Matende, by the High Court in Eldoret.

In a ruling delivered on Monday, 20 May 2024 by Justice Reuben Nyakundi, the prosecution presented sufficient evidence to prove that both Muhinda and Amatuka took part  in the murder of the late Matenje.  Justice Nyakundi ordered that the two be detained in Eldoret prison until 03 June 2024, when the court will announce their sentences.

On 6, October 2018, Ms. Melisa Muhinda attacked and fatally wounded her late husband Mr. Matende, thereafter maiming his body, and stacking it inside a sack. Ms. Muhinda then contacted Mr. Amatuka and hired his boda boda to transport the mutilated body parts.
