Every year on March 8th women are celebrated across the world. This is to appreciate their existence and contribution to the society. It is with know doubt that women paly a vital role in the world and they ought to be loved and respected,.
Sheryl Sandberg once said, “We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored.”
The International women’s day campaign theme in 2023 is #EmbraceEquity. The theme aims at getting the world to talk about the scarcity of equal opportunities. When we talk about equity, we don’t mean equality. There is a difference between the two terminologies.
Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome while equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities.
